Dromana 5 Mile West Waterford AC (1930hrs Friday 21 June 2019)
The Dromana 5 mile 2019road race took placeon Friday 21stJune, this is A to B race, starting at Villierstown and finishing at Cappoquin with a few hills between. Race winners in the men’srace was Raivis Zakis, West Waterford AC in 26.49 and the women’s race was Madeline Loughnane,Thurles Crokes in 31.00 Well done to our club members who all ran well with Ross Cleary finishing in 35.26, Margaret Power in 40.38, Sinead Power in 41.55, Derek O’Dwyer in 44.56, Sean Dunne in 45.55 and Jackie Dunne
Waterford Viking Marathon, Full, Half &Quarter (0900hrs Saturday 22June 2019)
The Waterford Viking full, half and Quarter Marathon took pace at Waterford City on Saturday 22nd June, with nice sunny but cool weather made ideal running conditions,this event started on the Mall in the city, taking in the greenway and finishing at Waterford Institute of TechnologySports Arena. Well done to Brian Murphy finishing in second place in the Quarter Marathon, in40.07 Quarter winners were David Mansfield, Clonmel AC 38.09 and Mollie Hutchinson, Ferrybank AC in 48.27. In the Half Marathon event well done to Derek Walsh finishing in 6th place in 1.17.55 and winning 1st o/40 category, and Eugene O’Keeffe running a PB time of 1.28.33 and winning 1st o/50. Alsorepresenting our club well done to Eileen O’Connell, finishing in 1.51.25 and Jimmy Power in 2.04.33 Half Marathon winners were Yared Derese, Carrick Aces in 1.04.55 and Ruth Fitzgerald, Waterford AC in 1.21.28
Waterford Viking Marathon, Full, Half & Quarter (0900hrs Saturday 22 June 2019)
Well done to Miguel Ponce De Leon who was partas of‘The Greenway Walkers’ team which finished in third place in the Waterford Viking relay Marathon in a total time of 3.25.21. Great running Miguel.
Rás Na Rinne6 MileWest Waterford AC (1930hrs Friday 28June 2019)
The West Waterford AC hosted ‘Rás Na Rinne 20196 Mile road and beach race took place on Friday 28th June, this is a unique race starting on the road going downhill to reach the beach at ring Co Waterford and travelling on beach, sand dune and grass for almost 4 miles and return to the road up hill to the finish. Well done two our two winners Benny Hahessy Winning 1st o/45 in 37.30 and Eugene O’Keeffe winning 1st o/50 in 38.01 Well done to all member that took part , all running well with Patrick Roche in 6th place in 35.15, Benny Hahessy in 8th place and 1sto/45 in 37.30, Eugene O’Keeffe 1st o/50 in 38.01, Deirdre Power running strong to the line in 47.10, Sinead Dunne in 51.41, Sean Dunne in 57.10 and Mary Fitzpatrick finishing in 57.22. (overall winners male: Raivis Zakis, West Waterford AC in 32.21 and female: Kealey Tideswell, Clonmel AC in 38.11)
Pink Rock 10K St Joseph’s AC (1200hrs Sunday 30 June 2019)
The Pink Rock 10k road race 2019 took place at Rosbercon, Co. Kilkenny on Sunday 30 June. Our club was well represented with six of our athletes taking part Well done to Mary Molloy winning 1sto/40 in 45.39 also running well was Eileen O’Connell finishingin 47.14, Mary Kelly in 48.43, Margaret Power in 50.30, Sinead Dunne in 51.37 and Sean Dunne 57.16, Well done everyone. (Overall race winners male: Niall Sheehan, Gowran AC 33.05 and female: Sally Forristal, St Joseph’sAC 36.39)
