GSK 5 Mile Road Race West Waterford AC (19.30hrs Friday 17 August 2018)
The GSK 5 mile Road Race 2018, hosted by West Waterford Athletics Club got underway last Friday evening 17 August, Race winners were Tim O’Donoghue, East Cork AC in 25.49 and Sally Forristal, St Joseph’s AC in 29.40. Our club had a strong representation with Michael O’Sullivan crossing the line in 29.33 followed with fine running from Raymond Burke in 30.15, Benny Hahessy in 31.17, John Carroll in 33.39, Mary Molloy in 36.39, Deirdre Power in 39.54, Derek O’Dwyer in 39.55, Margaret Power in 41.02, Sean Dunne in 44.16 and Sinead Dunne in 44.26. Well done everyone
Berlin Pond Five Miler 2018 (1800hrs Thursday 16 August 2018)
Miguel Ponce De Leon took part in the Berlin Pond Five Miler 2018 at Berlin Town, Connecticut, United States, lastThursday16th August, Race Winners, Male:Matt Hynes, Montpelier 27.42 and Female: Richarda Ericson, Montpelier 35.21. The course had very Sharpe elevations in the first half of the race, so much so the race had aKing and Queen of the Hills winner’s category. Miguel put in a great performance to win 1st o/40 and 9th overall. Well done Miguel
Irish Life Health Masters T+F Championships Tullamore Harriers (1100hrs Saturday18August 2018)
The Irish Life Health Master Track and Field Championship 2018 took place at Tullamore Harriers Track, Tullamore, Co Offaly last Saturday 18 August, Carrick on Suir Athletics Club had two Athletes taking part in three events, Richard Phelan put in a fine performance in the 0/35 100 metre race to finish 4th in 12.11 sec andRichard followed this up by winning Bronze in the o/35 long jump.
Late that evening Patrick Roche ran well in the o/40 1500 metre race to finish in 4:41.04. Well done to both athletes
